OBITUARY: Dorothy Gilles, 1913-1995

Dorothy Gilles, 82, of Osage, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 11, 1995, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a 7:30 p.m. scripture service.

Dorothy Gilles was born April 22, 1913, in Osage, the daughter of Albert and Ellen Sophia (Thompson) Cordes. She married Vernon Gilles on January 19, 1937 at Waterloo, Iowa.

Survivors include one daughter, Sue (Mrs. George Raymond) Safire of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sons, Michael Gilles of Osage, Patrick Gilles of Topeka, Kansas, and Jeffery Gilles of Redmond, Washington; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Ellen (Mrs. Jack) Conklin of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
