Mrs. Laverne Walker of Gatesville died Sunday, January 27.
She was 76.
Services were held Tuesday at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Loyd Hall officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was born August 4, 1914, in Hamilton County, the daughter of the late William L. and Fannie Bush Newlin. She married Mr. Jack Gordon February 15, 1936, and they resided in the Slater community and Gatesville area until his death August 13, 1953.
She later married Mr. Leonard L. Walker July 20,1956. They resided in Gatesville until his death on January 27,1972. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker, enjoying quilting, embroidering, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Walker was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, A.J. Gordon of Gatesville; a step-son, Floyd Walker of Waco; a brother, Felix Newlin of Huntsville; seven grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers were Casey Robinson, Charlie Gordon, Russell McKay, David Walker, and Larry Walker.
