Ethel DeLaRue
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Fuller Funeral Home in Orange, Texas for Ethel Tarpley DeLaRue, widow of the late Professor Harry DeLaRue, who died Wednesday at her residence in Orange, Texas.
A native of Scottsboro, Ala., she was a graduate of Brenau College and attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She was a member of Phi Mu social sorority, a charter member of Chapter L.P.E.O., Sisterhood and the Galvez Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Professor DeLaRue was Head of the Department of History and Social Studies at USL for many years. After retirement from USL, he taught at Texas Tech University. The DeLaRues moved to Orange, Texas after his retirement from Texas Tech.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold A. Brock (Rene) of Bellaire, Texas and Mrs. Donald (Mary Louise) Parker of Orange, Texas. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry DeLaRue, Jr.
