Died - - Bernard Rust - - Bernard Rust died at his residence seven miles northeast of Summersville on Friday, January 26, 1901, of pneumonia fever. He was a German who came to this county about ten years ago without means, and by thrift and economy accumulated a good farm, well stocked, and considerable property. He was a social, jolly, generous-hearted man, whom everybody liked. He will be missed by many for he had a host of friends. He was a good citizen, and his death is a loss to Shannon County. He leaves three daughters and two sons, his wife having died several years ago. The Wave extends its sympathy to the bereaved family in their sad affliction.
(Note: He came from Prussia in 1879/1880 and the correct spelling of his first name is Bernhardt)
