Residence was not listed. Enlisted on 10/20/1864 as a Private. On 10/20/1864 he mustered as a substitute into Unassigned IN 37th Infantry (date and method of discharge not given).

Note: His grave marker reads that he served in the 22nd IN Vol Regiment. His obituary states that he served four years in the 74th IN Vol Reg. Neither of those service records have yet been located.

Son of William Himes (1806-1879) & Lydia Shambaugh (1816-1895).
