Metta was born the daughter of the late Carl and Lillie Mae Dodson Frasure. She graduated from Evant High School, married Floyd Barnes in 1940 and together they raised four sons. Metta was a long time member of the Haltom Road Baptist Church, loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing dominoes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd in 1977, son, J. C. Barnes in 2003, her parents and four brothers and sisters. Survivors: Sons, Lee Barnes and Carol Kelley of Lake, Mississippi, Milton Barnes and wife, Linda of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia and Howard Barnes and wife, Nancy of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Jane Barnes of Iowa Park and a host of loving friends.
