ALVIN EDWARD "AL" WICHMANN, 82, of Denver died Aug. 31 [1999]. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Broomfield.

Mr. Wichmann was born in Denver on June 25, 1917. He married Louise Marie Steinke, June 25, 1938 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Denver. Al graduated in 1936 from North High School, Denver. He worked for a time at the Rainbow Bread Company in Denver (1938-1941). He served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked for Epcon Sign Co., then Eller Outdoor advertising. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 68 and served as recording secretary. He was troop leader for Boy Scouts of America.

A life-long member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod he served for many years as a Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher. He also served on the board of trustees more than once and, after his wife's death, he assisted with adult Bible studies classes.

Al was a proud and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He has been joined in a better place by his youngest grandchild, Sgt. Grant Arthur Wichmann.
