Bill was a veteran of World War II, were he served in the US Army under the command of General George S. Patton Jr. in the 4th. Armored Division in Europe.
Bill retired from the Security Division as a special police officer with the Department Of Defense, Fort Detrick.
He was a former member of Edwin Creeger Jr. American Legion Post 168, Thurmont and the Owls Club, Nest 4002, Frederick.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Leister and husband Stuart of Hampstead; three sons, John L. Milyard, Frederick, Charles W. Milyard, Thurmont and Wade H. Milyard and wife Jeannine, Walkersville, four grandchildren, Wade, Todd, Luke and Melissa Milyard all of Walkersville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral held with the Rev. Richard Murphy of St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church of Walkersville officiating with entombment made in the Mausoleum, Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Hansonville by Robert E. Dailey & Son funeral directors.
