All That is Mortal of Mrs. Laity Laid Away by Friends.
Among those from here who attended the funeral of Mrs. Thomas Laity in Kalamazoo Monday were Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Carson, Rev. and Mrs. J. White, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morrison, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford, Mesdames Waggoner, Henry Corned. G. D. Ford, H. S. Earl and Misses Mary Earl, Lulu Carson and Ella Coburn. Large numbers were present. Also from other points where Rev. Laity has acted as pastor. Oshtemo, Bloomingdale, Schoolcraft, Glenn and Casco, Plainwell and Lake Odessa: A number of ministers had charge of the services and many other ministers from all over this part of the state were present. A quartet of clergymen furnished the music. An obituary- written by the husband of the deceased, was read by District Superintendent Puffer, with his personal comment, and was a, beautiful tribute. Mrs. Thomas Laity Stricken With Paralysis at Gull Lake Dies in Hospital.
Mrs. Thomas Laity, who was stricken with paralysis at Bayview, Gull lake, August 6, died in Bronson hospital at 11:30 o'clock last night. She was the wife of Rev. Thomas Laity, of Lake Odessa, and had accompanied him here on his vacation. Mrs. Laity was born In Oshtemo and graduated from the local schools. She had made frequent visits to Kalamazoo since her residence in Lake Odessa and was well known here. Besides the husband she is survived by two children, Irene and Harry. The funeral will be held from the home of her sister, Mrs. Eva Morrison, 121 Cedar court, at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Ministers from this and other cities will officiate.
