Lillie Goldsmith Stone, age 88 of 2434 Bowersville Highway, died December 25, 2009 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, S.C.
Born September 15, 1921 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Goldsmith and Lucy Morrison Goldsmith. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Shirley Bratcher and Betty Vaughn of Hartwell, Ga., and Edna Stone of Bowersville, Ga., daughter-in-law, Betty Stone. Seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Curtis B. Stone, son, Carey Stone, brothers, J.C. Goldsmith and Willie "Bud" Goldsmith and sisters, Lizzie Mae Byrum and Myrtice Byrum and granddaughter, Carolyn McClain.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Black will be officiating. Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon December 28, 2009, from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. The family will be at the home, 2434 Bowersville Highway. Memorials may be made to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, S.C. 29621 or to the charity of one's choice.
Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel will be in charge.
