Marvis Wachsman Dietrich

89, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2005, in Tucson, AZ. She was born Marvis Maye Mossman near Leith, ND, on June 1, 1915, and resided in Grant County and Mandan ND, until 1997 when she moved to AZ to be near her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Ethel Mossman; sister, Faye Emch; two devoted husbands; and step-granddaughter, Leanne Dietrick Shafer.

She was married in 1935 to Carl K. Wachsman. Marvis is survived by her two children, Carl C. (Fran) Wachsman of Tucson and Shyrla Getchell of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren, Carl J. and Todd Wachsman, Kurt, Colby and Evan Getchell, Carla Cooley; and five great-grandchilren.

She was married to Ralph Dietrich in 1960 and is survived by his two children, Jonathan (Linda) Deitrich of Yankton, SD, and Dorrit (Don) Huber of Bismarck, ND; three grandchildren, Wade and Lane Huber, Danny Dietrich; and four great-grandchildren.

Marvis lived a wonderful and fulfilled life, centered around her family and friends, her church and her enjoyment of music. She leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her strength and goodness.

Memorial services will be held on February 12 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Tucson and on March 5 at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Mandan, ND.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made In Memory of Mrs. Marvis Dietrich to Alzheimer's Prevention Foundation International, 2420 N. Pantano Rd., Tucson, AZ 85715.
