Gramma Norma was a wonderful woman. She gave birth to two daughters, one of whom preceded her in death. Each of these daughters gave her two granddaughters, one of whom is my wife.
In this family dominated by women, Gramma Norma stood out as the unsaid matriarch. She was always ready with a story; she enjoyed cards and needlecraft and smoked, even on the last day of her life.
She died at the home of her younger daughter, who she had been living with since relocating to Sacramento from Southern California in 2004.
