Bobby always looked forward each year to the Deepwater Labor and Harvest Picnic with his entries of canned goods, garden vegetables, ect. He was the Grand Marshall of the Deepwater Parade in 1999. Bobby was active with volunteering at the Deepwater Senior Citizen Center and the Deepwater Baptist Church. He was a member of the Deepwater Baptist Church until Earl relocated to the Clinton Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
