Carrie M. Gregory, 69, Springville, died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday at Bedford Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Born in Wayne County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ben and Roxie (Bell) Phillips. She married James C. Gregory June 7, 1961 and he died May 1, 1996. She was a homemaker and member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. Surviving are one daughter, Sandy Cain of Mitchell; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters: Opal Chapman, Charlene Banks and Alma Jones, all of Springville, and Aline Nelson of Houston, Texas; and four brothers: Stanley, Eugene, Joseph Ray and Howard W. Phillips, all of Springville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and three brothers: R.C., Glen and Luther Phillips. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Steve Phillips and Pastor Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford, and from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church.
