She was Brillion’s oldest resident.
The former Augusta Schaefer, she was born May 12, 1882, in the town of Rantoul, a daughter of the late Gottlieb and Anna Frueck Schaefer.
On November 28, 1907, she and Henry Reese were married at Rantoul until 1942, when Mr. Reese died.
Mrs. Reese then lived with her son, Elvin, in Brillion, until 1968, when she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Adeline Bastian, Brillion. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Brillion.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Adeline Bastian, Brillion, and Mrs. Arthur (Lydia) Riemer of Reedsville; one son, Alvin,(sic) Brillion; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one brother, Otto Schaefer, R. 1, Brillion. She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services were Thursday at Peace UCC, Brillion, with the Rev. Roger Mealiff, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Potter cemetery.
