John Halbert Bennett, 84, of Springfield died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday at Clarkston Court.
He was born June 26, 1907, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of John Thomas and Flora Buck Bennett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Howell Bennett in 1984; and a brother, Arthur R.
Mr. Bennett had been employed by Haenig Electric Co. for many years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and St. Paul Lodge 500 AF&AM.
Surviving are four brothers, Harold of Springfield, Walter L. of Crystal City, Mo., George E. of Albuquerque, N.M., and Richard of South Bend, Ind.
Graveside services: Oak Ridge Cemetery, Dr. Roger Compton officiating.
