From the La Cygne Weekly Record, La Cygne, Kansas, 13 Feb 1913, Thursday:

Wednesday of last week Postmaster H.J. Muth was called to Richland, Kansas, on account of the critical illness of his aged father, Rev. H.K. Muth, who was visiting in that place, and who died the following day, Thursday,aged about 80 years. Deceased was a retired M.E. minister, and had on several occasions visited here with his son and family, at times preaching to the Methodist congregation. He went from here last fall to Colorado, and while there suffered a bad fall, from the effects of which he never fully recovered. Several children survive.
The remains were taken to Rev. Muth's home, Topeka, for interment, the funeral occurring Saturday.
Postmaster Muth returned to La Cygne Sunday.
