STONEVILLE, NC — Mr. Forest D. Moore Sr., of 671 Eden Road, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 25, 2009, at his home.
The funeral service was held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 28, at Boone-Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Moore was born in Draper (now Eden) on January 18, 1923, a son of James Ferrell and Janie Earles Moore, both deceased.
He was a Word War II Army veteran. He was a retired supervisor from Fieldcrest Mills.
He also worked as a security guard for Wackenhut for 10 years after his retirement.
He was a member of Draper Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn F. Moore, of the home; his daughter, Dorris Moore of Harrells, NC, and Betty Fraser of Windham, Maine; his sons, Forest Moore Jr., of the home, and Barry Moore of Eden; his sister, Ruby Hairfield of Eden; and his five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Moore and Bill Moore.
