Lassie Viola Cinnamon, 93, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Brakebill Nursing Home in Knoxville.

The daughter of Lewis Savage and Sarah Adlene Brummett, she was born May 30, 1909, in Union County.

Mrs. Cinnamon was a member of Corbin Hill Baptist Church of Morgan County.

Her family said she enjoyed fishing, reading the Bible and quilting. In earlier years, she enjoyed working in her garden.

She was the widow of William Arnold Cinnamon, who died April 19, 1982.

Mrs. Cinnamon is survived by her son, Paul Andrew Cinnamon of Oak Ridge; her daughter, Maude Lucille Barnett of Oak Ridge; her sisters, Ora Harmon and Velda Gunter, both of Monroe, Mich., Eva Moore of Confield, Ohio, and Thresa Smith and Annie Arnold, both of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, Debora Wright and James C. Barnett Jr., both of Arroyo Grande, Calif., Annalee Donovan of Santa Clara, Calif., Tammy Cinnamon of Kerneysville, W.Va., Barbara Cinnamon of West Virginia, William Paul Cinnamon of Oak Ridge and Annie Marie Cinnamon of Wichita Falls, Texas; 16 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Troy McKinley Cinnamon, who died in 1999; and five siblings.

The funeral will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. David Childress officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
