Colonel Radford was the Regional Public Water Authority Director in Omaha, Nebraska from 1933 to 1937. He retired from the Army as a Colonel in 1946. He was in Greece, where he had been for one year, as an advisor on railways to the United States Corps of Engineers. He died after a short illness. His survivors included his wife, Rebecca Cresap Ord and three daughters: Miss Manette Radford, Mrs. Rebecca Fleming and Mrs Rosemary Ruether. He was the son of Stephen Kearney Radford and Penelope Porter Armstrong.

His son-in-law Lieut. Colonel Daniel Mahrt Fleming is also buried in Arlington National Cemetery. His wife, Rebecca, died in Colorado Springs while attending the funeral.
