Obituary - Mrs. Grundy, Tracy City, TN, Thursday, 27 October, 1904:
"J. B. Bynum, Sr, agr 71 years, died Sunday night after a few days of illness.He was born in Cannon County and moved here about the year 1884, where has followed the occupation of miner until 5 or 6 years ago having to give up this on account of his health. His wife and nine children survive him four daughters Mrs. R.L. Brannan, Mrs. W.A. Dishroom, Mrs. Tom Anderson, and Mrs. J. Nunley all of this place, and five sonsWilliam and Frank of Alabama, Geo of Arkansas, J. B. and John, of this place. Services were held at the residence by Rev. J. D. Nortcut and the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery Tuesday afternoon."
