Florence M. Bittinger, 97, of Springs, died May 15 at the Goodwill Mennonite Home. Born Dec. 6, 1891 in Bittinger, Md., daughter of the late Henry and Susanna (Fuller) Bittinger. Also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer, and a sister, Mabel, a niece, Minnie Weimer, and nephew, Raymond Bittinger. Survived by four nieces, Elizabeth Weimer, Salisbury; Viola Nyhart, Gambier, Ohio; Eileen Mort of Springs and Laura Brown of Salisbury. Also one nephew, Clayton, of Millersport, Ohio. She served as postmaster in Springs for 26 years. Member of the Springs Mennonite Church and a charter member of the Springs Historical Society. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. in Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury where funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m., the Rev. Steven J. Heatwole officiating. Interment Springs Cemetery.
