Velma "Christine" Lawson of 10 Gentry St. died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, after several years on kidney dialysis treatment. She turned 82 on Dec. 15, 2004.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Gussie Phillips. Early in her years, she worked for Stone Manufacturing but was a homemaker the majority of her life.
Surviving family members are a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Jerry Rhodes; twin grandsons, Rusty and Dusty Rhodes, all of Greenville; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Wayne Crews of Greenwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Judy Lawson of Dacusville; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Phillips of Greenville.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Lawson; two daughters, Sue Wyatt and Ann Wilson; a son, Pete Lawson; one sister; and three brothers.
Special thanks to all the workers and patients at Twin Oaks Dialysis Center, and all the doctors at Carolina Regional Nephrology Associates for the kindness they showed our mother.
Visitation will be tonight, Jan. 5, 2005, from 6 to 9 at Westville Funeral Home, 6010 White Horse Road. Graveside services will be at the Graceland West Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday. Officiating the service is Pastor Boyd Lusk.
The family will be at 10 Gentry St., Greenville.
