Mr. Bletzacher was the son of Englebert and Margaret Smith
Bletzacher. He married Catherine Rose Stalter on April 28, 1863 in St. Joseph's Church, Perry County, Ohio.


Martin Bletzacher died on March 12 after a lingering illness. Mr. Bletzacher was born in Alsace Lorraine France, December 12, 1839 and came with his father, mother and two brothers to the United States in 1847, landing in New York on July 8th, the proceded to Buffalo by boat and from there they came to Perry County and settled on a farm near Saint Joseph's, where they resided until his death.

On April 28, 1863 he and Miss Catharine Stalter were united in marriage at Saint Joseph's. To this union, eleven children were born, one dying in infancy and Frank dying six years ago. His devoted wife and nine children,John of Marion, Ind., Mrs. John Dittoe, Mrs. William Carney and Mrs. Omer Snider of Somerset, Mrs. Jess Green of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Albert Baker of Middletown, Raymond of Hamilton, Ohio and Urban at home, survive to mourn.

The funeral was held at Saint Joseph's on Tuesday with Solemn High Mass, the Holy Name Society occupying the front pews as a sign of respect for their departed associate, of which he was a charter member. May he rest in peace.
