Rick was born April 26, 1951 in Breckenridge, Minn., to Alton and Delores (Berg) Hendrickson. He grew up in Walcott and graduated from Kindred High School in 1969. Following high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the pacific. He moved to Fargo following his military service and was employed with ABC Seamless for many years. He married Deborah Nelson in 1982. His daughter, Brittany was born in 1984.
On Sept. 26, 1998 Rick married Renae Nelson and they moved to Grand Forks in February of 1999.
Rick enjoyed working on the yard, playing trivia and spending time with his family and friends. He was known for being hard-working, fair and honest. Rick fulfilled his dream of building a home in the country.
Since Rick's diagnosis of AML in early February, 2009, he fought courageously and was referred to as a "stellar patient" by all his doctors and nurses. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodney.
Rick is survived by his wife, Renae, Thompson, N.D.; daughter, Brittany Hendrickson, Moorhead; step-daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Annett, Minneapolis; brothers, Roger (Stephanie) Hendrickson, Walcott, N.D., Ross Hendrickson, Jacksonville, Fla., and his nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Dec. 11, First Lutheran Church, Fargo, N.D.
