BRISTOL — Ila B. Griggs, 72, passed to the Lord Thursday, August 31, 2000 surrounded by her family.
Ila was born September 15, 1927 to Ila and Roderick (Roy) Burritt of Hinesburg. She was raised in Monkton by Eva and Wesley Little. Ila attended Monkton School, Bristol High School and graduated from Burlington Business College. Ila was a member of the New Haven Congregational Church.
Ila married Clois C. Griggs in Bristol in 1955. They owned and operated Griggs Sales and Service from 1967-1980.
Ila is survived by her husband, Clois C. Griggs of Bristol; two children, Carroll Griggs and his wife, Laura and their children, Jennifer, Christopher and Carolyn; Elizabeth Orr and her husband, William and their children, Wesley, Rachel and Eva.
Ila is survived by siblings, Daniel Burrit of Smyrna, Del.; Helen and Roger Layn of Monkton, Roderick and Carmi Burrit of Monkton; sisters-ilaw, Hope and Laura Burritt; many nieces, nephews, an aunt Iris Stacy, and many friends. She also leaves a very special and caring friend, Mary Alexander.
She was predeceased by brothers Guy and George Burritt.
Interment in Maple Cemetery, Lincoln.
