SULLIVAN -- Mrs. Bertha May Woolen, 81, of Sullivan died at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 1982, in her home. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in the McMullin Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mrs. Woolen was born on April 20, 1901, in Bloomington, a daughter of William and Cora Niles Fuqua. She married James Russell Woolen on October 10, 1920 in Lovington. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Harry A. of Sullivan, Jasper N. of Decatur and Russell, Jr., of Shelbyville; three daughters, Hyllis Thomas of Champaign, Betty Read of Shelbyville and Barbara Kelly of Urbana; twenty-nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
