At Ottawa, on June 2nd, Mr. Thos. McKerracher, aged 42 years.
We regret to announce the sudden death of Mr. T. McKerracher, of Perth, who was well known to many of our residents. On Saturday morning last he was found dead in his room at Ottawa, lying on the bed with a letter in his hands. It is supposed that while sitting on the edge of the bed on Friday night reading the letter he was stricken with heart failure and so fell over in the bed and expired. His sudden death came as a shock to his many friends. Deceased was a brother of Mr. W.J. McKerracher, of the firm of Shaw & McKerracher, Perth. The body was brought to Perth on Saturday for interment and the funeral on Monday afternoon was conducted by the Masons, of which Order deceased was a member. Among the members of Evergreen Lodge, Lanark, who attended were Messrs. W.A. Field, J.H. Wilson, J.F. Jackson, J.N. Debbie and J.D. McInnes.
