Mamie D. Kucera, 95, of Traer, died Thursday, Nov. 25, at Sunrise Hill Care Center Traer of natural causes.
She was born May 15, 1915, at home in rural Toledo, daughter of Joe W. and Mary A. Kvidera Nachazel. She married Frank J. Kucera Nov. 22, 1938, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in rural Clutier. He died July 29, 1998.
She attended country school in Carroll. She was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Rosary Society, Homemakers Club, Traer American Legion Auxiliary and the KD Lodge.
Survived by two sons, John (Janet) Kucera and Mark (Kerry) Kucera, both of rural Toledo; two daughters, Mary Jane (Karl) Rinkleff of Fredericksburg and Susan (Norman) Gorder of Conrad; Elsie Nechanicky Gates, who was raised in Mrs. Kucera's parent's home from age 11; 11 grandchildren, Chris (Danielle) Kucera, Tim (Teresa) Kucera, Erik (Mary Ann) Rinkleff, Heidi Rinkleff, Sara (Thomas) Frizelle, Maria (Michael) Zurn, Patrick Rinkleff, Todd (Molly) Kucera, J.D. (Kristin) Kucera, Matt (Micah) Gorder and Mark Gorder; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a great-grandson, Joseph; and a sister, Millie Dostal.
Services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, both in Clutier. Public visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday with a 3 p.m. rosary.
In free moments she enjoyed her family, grandchildren and visits from her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, working in her flower garden and playing solitaire.
