Alma, Edward and their 7-year-old daughter, Esther, headed to church in their Model T on the morning of Sunday, 03 Oct 1920. A train collided with the Boenker car, and Esther was killed at the age of 7 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was buried at Fee Fee Cemetery in Bridgeton, Missouri.
