ELKTON, Ky. — Services for Essie Mae Martin Hines, 77, Allegre, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bellview Baptist Church in Allegre, with the Revs. Tommy Wilhite and J.R. Craig officiating. Burial will be in the New Ebenezer Cemetery. She died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

A native of Todd County, shed was born Nov. 20.1924, the daughter of the late William McKinley and Iola Mann Duke. She was retired as the first coordinator for the Senior Citizen's Center in Elkton and was also instrumental in fund raising for the new Senior Citizen Center.

She Was a Sunday school teacher for 35 years at the Bellview Baptist Church where she was a member. Her first husband, Owen Martin, died in 1982.

Survivors include her husband, Wave Hines; a son, Billy Martin, Claymour, three daughters, Linda Tucker, Kirkmansville, Mary Ann Craig and Betty Mae Tatum7, both of Allegre; two stepdaughters, Peggy Darden, Owensboro, Wavelene Jones, Russellville; sister, Edna Jordan, Elkton; nine
grandchildren, seven great-grand-children , three step grandchildren
and one step great-grandchild.

Essie is the daughter of William M. & Iola Mann Duke. She married Otho Owen Martin. He preceded her in death in 1982. She then married Charles W. Hines on Aug. 17, 1984, in Logan Co. KY.
