Jerry Wayne Boren, 45, of Haileyville, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne with Father Leo Ahanotu and Father Hung Viet Le officiating. Burial will be at Albion Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Born Nov. 29, 1964, in Poteau, he was the son of Buck and Ethel (Files) Boren. He married Lynette Collums on Jan. 6, 1998, in Mena, Ark. He drove a truck for Bravo Construction. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Krebs. He was a Life Scout and an avid pocket knife collector. He worked as a volunteer for the Haileyville Fire Department for five years and loved his trucks and 4-wheeler. Survivors include his wife, Lynette Boren, of the home; son, B.J. Collums, of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Murray Akers, of Owasso, Leona and Robert Peebles, of Virginia, and Gayle and Robby Tucker, Plano, Texas. Also, brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Linda Gregory, of Yanush; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jo and Ron Wallace, of Dow; aunts and uncles, Jim and Gale Swanson, of McAlester, Pat Pinegar, of Sapulpa, Iva Mae Rosenthal, Anaheim, Calif., Nilena Jones, Plano, Texas, Dora Parks, Plano, Texas, Bob and Betty Files, Gladewater, Texas, M.L. Files, of California, John and Sunny Collums, of Wilburton, and Bill Collums, of Wilburton. And, Godmother, Lavada (Nonna) Hardin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends, Donna and Paul Pingleton, of Haileyville, Kim and James Arthur, of Hartshorne, and Christine Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Ethel Boren; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ras Boren; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler Files; great-grandparents, Marie and Lincoln Wallace, and brothers, Gary Boren, Daryl Gregory and Danny Gregory. Pallbearers will be Kenny Cooley, Clark Barnes, James Arthur, Willy Fox, Danny Bell, Tony Hackler, Donny Branum and Ted Barlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Alec Suter, Donald Duncan, Paul Pingleton, Mark Copple, C.A. Anderson, Denver Hunter, Cody Hunter, Norman Day, Jim Horton, Doyle Rowland, Ty Statham, and all Bravo employees and oilfield workers that knew him.
