Carlotta Bobek Colciazer died December 18, 2009 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, Mo., at age 72.

Carlotta was born August 25, 1937 to Joseph and Mary Wiseley Bobek.

She was reared on the family farm west of Caldwell, Ks. After an elementary education at Doster and Scott Schools near the farm, she graduated from Caldwell High School in 1955.

Carlotta received her Bachelor's Degree from Emporia State University four years later followed by an internship required to receive her Registered Dietician accreditation.

She worked at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa., before moving to Los Angeles, Ca. Her first job in Los Angeles was at the Motion Picture Country House and Hospital. This facility is a retirement home available to all who work in the motion picture industry. Carlotta lived in one of the cottages on the grounds.

Carlotta left this employment to start her own consulting business. Her clientele consisted of smaller nursing homes and retirement facilities which did not have full time dieticians. She was responsible for organizing their kitchens and planning menus for the patients residing there. This involved interviewing the residents and also working with staff and suppliers. Carlotta's clients were scattered over the Los Angeles area.

Carlotta married John Colclazer December 23, 1967.

John and Carlotta moved into a new home in Granada Hills, which is in the northern part of the San Fernando Valley. This home was severely damaged by two major earthquakes; one in 1968 and one in 1994.

Carlotta continued her consulting career until her granddaughter, Shannon, came to live with them.

In 1995, Carlotta and John moved to Grove, Ok. John died in April, 2009.

Carlotta is survived by her step-children, John Colciazer, Jr., Dinosaur, Co.,Sue Bonds and husband, Pat, Oakhurst, Calif., also by her grandchildren, Dawn Shiells and Shannon Shiells; and her great-grandchildren, Brian Morales, Bailey Morales, Alyssia Morales and Autumn Shiells. She is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Archer and husband Dave; sister, and Shirley Kendall and her husband Neal, all of Oklahoma City, Okla.,and a brother, Frank Bobek and his wife Martha., Coffeyville, Kansas.

Carlotta was preceded in death by her husband John; her great-granddaughter, Christina Ross, and her parents, Joe and Mary Bobek.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Schaeffer Mortuary in Caldwell, Kansas with Pastor Bob Barrett officiating.

Burial will follow at the Czech Cemetery in Caldwell.

Memorials may be made to the Czech Cemetery at Caldwell, Ks.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo. and the Schaeffer Mortuary of Caldwell, Kansas.

John F. Colclazer, Sr.
(October 30, 1919 - April 21, 2009)

John F. Colclazer Sr., age 89, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, MO. following 4 years of ill health.

John was born October 30, 1919 in Sperry, Oklahoma and moved to Grove from Granada Hills, California in 1995.

John's professional career was quite varied. In addition to his work as a hospital administrator and psychologist, John was chairman of Vanguard Aviation Corp. in California and owner of OK steel in Grove, Okla.

John worked with the Civilian Conservation Corp for 3 ½ years prior to joining the United States Marine Corp and serving during WW II. He was a member of the Second Division Fleet Marines. He participated in the first offensive landings against the Japanese in the South Pacific. He was wounded in action and honorably discharged in 1944. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

John was a lifelong seeker of knowledge. He was an avid reader. Primarily, his interests included books about aviation and homebuilding.

He also enjoyed a good western novel. He always enjoyed learning how to do something new and was an accomplished private pilot.

John will always be rememnbered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to others.

John was formerly married to Gloria LaVerne Wilson and from this union they had two children.

He married Carlotta Bobek December 23, 1967 in Hollywood, California and she survives.

Additional survivors include one son, John Colclazer Jr., Rangely, Colorado, one daughter, Sue Bonds, Oakhurst, California, three sisters, Lois Stulce, Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Frances Hill, Canyonville, Oregon, and Wanda Bailey, Provo, Utah, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a great granddaughter.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Schaeffer Mortuary in Caldwell, Kansas.

Burial with Military Honors will be in the Czech Cemetery in Caldwell.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
