Our dad, Roger Thompson, of Ruston, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving evening. He was born the youngest of nine children to Dean and Irene (Gibbs) Thompson in Aberdeen, S.D., on Jun. 11, 1938.

He served in the Air Force and was a brick mason for Asarco. He also worked for St. Regis, drove a taxi, tended bar in Ruston, and also laid carpet. But his favorite job was sitting on the other side of the bar, laughing with friends and drinking Rainier. He was also known for his sense of humor and carefree attitude about life.

He is survived by two sons, Ed and Roger, of Tacoma; daughters Bev of Tacoma and Tammy of Westport; grandkids Heather, Amber, Brandi, Jennifer, Curtis and Brandon; five great-grandkids; ex-wives Peggy Kiteley (mother of his children) and Sandra Thompson; many nieces and nephews, and his many friends from Ruston.

Please join us to remember our dad on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Narrows VFW Post #10018 at 4741 N. Baltimore, Tacoma. We miss you, dad!
