Samuel T. "Ted" Thomas, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 15, 1990 at his home.


Born May 27, 1905 in Haralson County, Georgia to James Riley and Violet W. Thomas.


Married Gladys L. Pless on October 16, 1927 in Roswell, Georgia. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.


He was owner and manager of the Boulevard Motel in Salt Lake City and later worked for Bonus, Int'l in sales and management. In his earlier years, Ted was an accomplished violinist and baseball player and enthusiast. First, and foremost, he was a devoted family man who gave lovingly of his time and energy. He leaves a legacy of love, a wonderful sense of humor, loyalty, and hard work.


Survived by his wife, Gladys P. Thomas, Salt Lake City; son, John J. Thomas; daughter, and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Hoskisson; seven grandchildren, Jason, Tiffany, Tristen and Trinity Thomas, all of Salt Lake; Christian Memmott, California; Nathan Memmott and Breanne Hoskisson, Salt Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Sheed, Mrs. Bessie Farrar, and Mrs. Pauline Garner, Breman, Georgia. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 20, 1990 at 12:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and the hour prior to the services.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
