TOBIAS CASTOR, SR., the son of Conrad Castor,( b. 9 December, 1789, d. 21 May, 1871), and Anna McDaniel, (b. 9 October, 1790, d. 18 August, 1869), came from Pennsylvania to Ashland County, Ohio, with his family in 1817 at the age of 3.
A farmer all of his life, he was a township clerk, a constable, 1880 President of Mutual Aid Association of Jelloway, Knox County, NE, and an adjuster for Farmers' Home Insurance Company.
