James H. Arledge, 81, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Saturday morning, Dec. 19, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 28, 1928 in Vinton County, the son of Wilbur and Cora (Arbaugh) Arledge. On Apr. 26, 1952 he married L. Lucille Knight who survives.

Also surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Janis L. and Royce Davis, his son, Larry J. Arledge and companion, Diana Whitt, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Shawn Harper, Christopher and wife, Dawn Arledge, Ryan and wife, Melanie Davis and Renae and husband Jon Parker, great-grandchildren, Gaven Harper, Ellie Grace Harper, Lexi Arledge, Cash Parker, Gracie Arledge and Natalie Davis and a host of extended family and friends.

Mr. Arledge was an employee of Wear-Ever with 32 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea and was a member of American legion Post 62, VFW Post 108, AMVETS 4 and the Ross County Senior Citizens. James enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Services were entrusted to Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Ohio.
