Chaffee, 89, of 637 Front St., Vestal, died at Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Owego, N.Y., Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. Survivors; 1 daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Gertrude) Clark, Port Dickinson, N.Y.; 2 sons: Ira M. Chaffee, Vestal; Earl T. Chaffee, Vestal; 3 grandsons: D. Bruce Ellis, Vestal; Blaine K. Ellis, Kirkwood, N.Y.; T. Brent Ellis, Newark Valley, N.Y.; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 niece, Mrs. William M. Ford, Lyons, N.Y.; several cousins.
He was a member of Vestal United Methodist Church of Vestal. Funeral and internment services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott. Rev William H. Stanton, pastor of Vestal United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends from the memorial home this evening 7 to 9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Torrance O. Chaffee may be made to Riverview Manor Nursing Home "Piano Fund", 510 Fifth Avenue, Owego, N.Y.
