From the "Stillwater News-Press" newspaper, Stillwater, OK, Sunday, October 1, 1950, page 4, cols. 7 & 8---
"G. R. Hilbert, Cushing, Dies
George R. Hilbert, 80-year-old retired farmer, 508 Central, Cushing, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cushing Municipal hospital following a serious illness of a year.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Baptist church, Cushing, with Rev. James Hoagg in charge. Burial under the direction of the Farley Mortuary, will be in New Zion cemetery.
Hilbert was born January 30, 1870, at Hixville, Ohio, and came to Oklahoma in 1900, settling 10 miles northwest of Cushing where he lived until coming to Cushing 8 years ago. He was married to Mable Harvey in 1909 in Burlington, Iowa. He became a member of the Baptist church 12 years ago.
He is survived by his wife of the home address, six daughters including Mrs. Hazel O'Neal of Stillwater, seven sons including Fred Hilbert of Stillwater, one sister and one brother, 25 grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and host of relatives and friends."
