1LT Francis H Potwine was a Bomber Pilot in the 10th Air Force, 490th Bombing Squadron stationed in India during WWII. The squadron flew the medium bomber B-25 Mitchell.

1Lt Potwine was Killed in Action over Imphal, India on May 28, 1944, along with the entire crew:

Staff Sgt Clayton Ewing of Nebraska
