Local Resident Dies.
Mrs. Ada H. West, a life resident of Hendricks County, died Saturday, March 10, at the age of 94. She was the third child of William and Eliza Harrison. Mrs. West was married to John West February 12, 1893, and one year later they took Carrie, (now Mrs. Madley) age 5, who was the niece of Mrs. West, to raise and was later adopted. They resided on a farm just one mile north, of Pecksburg for many years. In 1915, John West died and Ada then moved to Clayton where she worked in Stone's Store for many years. She also worked in the post office and the public library at Clayton. Her health necessitated her moving to Plainfield to be near her daughter.
Survivors are Carrie Hadley, Marvin Edmondson, Marjorie Welker; seven grandchildren, all of Plainfield; nephew. Clyde Trester of Chicago; a niece, Alva Montgomery of Indianapolis; 11 great, great nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Presbyterian Church at Clayton. Funeral services were held at the Hampton Funeral Home, with burial at Stilesville Cemetery.
