He retired in 1974 from Stellite, after 23 years of service. He worked for Oaks Manufacturing, Tipton. He served as pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in tipton several years ago.
He graduated from high school in southern Illinois and earned a theology degree at Olivett Liberal College, Kankakee, Ill. He was a member of the Parr United Methodist Church, Kokomo.
Also surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron and Patricia Brockett, Cicero, and Larry Brockett, Kokomo; one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Smith Hopkins, Kokomo; two step daughters, Laura Lamberson and Marilyn Ridgeway, both of Kokomo; sis grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road. The Rev. Larry Newberg will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, tipton. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
