Fay was the daughter of Luther Harris Ratliff and Mary Elizabeth Marie Ratliff, and the loving wife to first marriage of Eugene Hester and they had four children, She then moved to California in the mid 1950s where she met and married second to James A. Wells. She moved back to Corsicana and from there in 1975 she moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas and lived there for 19 years. In April 1994 she moved to Nashville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Ratliff and mother Marie Ratliff, Husband, James Wells, brother, Urial Ratliff, grandson, Frankie Hester and a son, Luke Hester.
She is survived by her children, Edward Hester of Yuma, Arizona, Dean Hester of Livingston and Mary Carmeleta Ackley of Nashville, Arkansas, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
