"Doris Merle Kunz Bales, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep, July 18, 2000 in a Murray care center.She was born Oct. 4, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Steven and Ida E. Cheshire Kunz. She married James L. Bales, Aug. 6, 1934 in Salt Lake City. Doris was a retired accounting clerk for Bennett Paint and Glass, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A member of ABWA, Ladies Moose and the 49ers Club. She loved golfing, traveling and enjoyed family outings. She loved her Grandchildren. Survivors: son, Dan S. (MaryLou) Bales, San Jose, CA., five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and son, James Jr., and her bothers and sisters. A special thanks to her granddaughter, Shauna Lund and to Carol Lund a special friend. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2000, 12 noon at the Riverside 2nd LDS Ward, 500 West Germania Ave. (5090 So.). Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park."
