Albert Lee Allen, 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Allen of Brookhaven was killed in a tragic accident Friday afternoon when the car he was working under fell. Young Allen was pronounced dead on arrival at King's Daughters Hospital. A spokesman at Dixie Welding and Tool Co. on old Highway 51 south, where Allen was employed, said the shop was closed at the end of the day and the young man had remained to work on his own car. Details of the accident were not available but it is believed the jack under the car slipped.
A native Lincoln Countian, Allen was a member of New Sight Baptist Church. He had been employed as a welder at Dixie Welding Co. the past year.
In addition to his parents the young man is survived by his wife, a daughter, Toni Lynn Allen; three brothers, Royce and Jack Allen, both of Brookhaven, Winford Allen, McComb; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Ray James and Miss Judy Allen, both of Brookhaven; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Allen, Rt. 2, Wesson, and Mr. and Mrs. Almond Ivy, Rt. 2, Sontag.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from New Sight Church with the Rev. L. C. Brown, Jr. officiating. Burial was in New Sight Cemetery.
