Edna L. Powell, 79, entered into rest on September 8, 2009. Ms. Powell was born on July 31, 1930 in Macon, Georgia. Ms. Powell worked at Robins Air Force Base for many years as a secretary. Ms. Powell called Central Baptist her church home. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Powell was preceded in death by her husbands Virgil R. Avant and Jack Powell and parents Johnny and Bessie Blow. Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Ronnie Avant, Kathleen; Neal Avant, Bullard and daughter; Denise Hubbard, Warner Robins; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and sister Margaret Switzer, Warner Robins. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery on Thursday, September 10, 2009, Sydney Odom officiating.
