Mr Cambon, who was 83 years old and a native of New Orleans, died following a short illness. He attended Spring Hill college and Yale University. He was a cousin of Paul Cambon, head of a bank in France, and Maurice Cambon, former ambassador to the United States from France.
He is survived by two sons, E D Cambon and L D Cambon, and two daughters, Lucy and Rita Cambon.
