Larry Wayne McMahan was born Aug. 31, 1934, to Samuel Steve McMahan and Gertie Florence Reed McMahan in Frisco, Texas. He died May 20, 2009, in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. McMahan married Juanita Irene French on Jan. 11, 1958.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Steve McMahan and Gertie Florence McMahan and siblings, Elberta Bowman and Johnny McMahan.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita McMahan of Scurry; children, Vickie and Derril Swinford of Forney, Rhonda and Steve Corder of Scurry and Steve and Krista McMahan of Scurry; adopted daughter Paula and Richard Dunn of Kemp; grandchildren, Jessica and Shane McCormic, Traeh Whittington, Karianne Swinford; Samuel and Heather Corder, Sheryl and John Copeland, Justin Busick, Colby McMahan, Kailey Martin, Kyndal McMahan, Brent and Jenny Dunn, Amanda and Dustin Roberts and Taylor Dunn; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Destiny McCormic, Alyssa Swinford, Hannah and Wyatt Corder, Addie Grace Copeland, Kaitlyn Roberts and Landon Dunn; siblings, Dorothy Bond, Kathryn Sparks, Jimmie Baugh and Reed McMahan, and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry. Graveside services were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman. www.parker-ashworthfuneralhome.
