OSAGE — Charles Arickx, 84, died Friday at his home in Mitchell. Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church here with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Tho Rosary will be recited Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at Champion Funeral Home.

Born in Belgium, Aug. 29, 1874, he came to the U.S. in 1905. He was married to Erma Vergate in 1907 and lived in Illinois and at Austin, Minn. They moved to Mitchell County in 1919. He retired from farming 20 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Erma; three sons, Ray, Mitchell; Frank, Osage; Joe, Floyd; five daughters: Mrs. Dell Lievrouw, Mrs. Frank Boerjan, both of Osage; Mrs. Cyril Heydeman, Calona, Ill; Mrs. Lawrence Moykens, and Mrs. Russell Mickels, both of Austin; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Della; a daughter, Mary and a son, Leo, who was killed at Pearl Harbor.
