Ellen Mae Hoopes Carlsen, 62, left this earthly life on April 5, 1990.

She was born in Downey, Idaho on May 21, 1927 to Eva A. and Peter A. Hoopes.

Married Kenneth S. John; divorced. Married Edward A. Carlsen on February 20, 1960.

Ellen worked for Tru-Tec Dental Lab at the time of her death. She retired from Hajoca Corp. in 1987. Loved buying and selling collectables and antiques, playing the organ, an avid seamstress, and dearly loved her grandchildren.

Survived by husband, daughter and son-in-law; Regina and Ron Ewing; grandchildren; Steven, William, and Rhonda; brother, Eli Lavar Hoopes and sisters; Edna Samuelsen, Salt Lake City; Blanche John, Wendell, Idaho; Clara Conway, Billings, Montana; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a son, Ronny Ken John; her parents; brothers, Ernest Darrell Dolder and Thomas Richard Taylor.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 8, 1990 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 9, 1990 at 12:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, where friends may call the hour prior.
